F.A.Q.:
Q: What is the High Scores Arcade?
A: The High Scores Arcade is an arcade and pinball anthology. What that means is the site is a mixture of all different kinds of things that are related to the arcade and pinball culture. There are decades of content about arcade and pinball games, audio, articles, images, interviews, magazines, news, ringtones, scores, trivia, videos and a virtual arcade on this site.
Q: I have a great site about arcade and pinball games. Will your add my site to your links section?
A: Yes! Send me an Email and I will gladly add your site to the links section. All I ask in return is that you add this site to your links section as well.
Q: Do I have to "Sign In" or "Sign Up" to access any of the content on this site?
A: No. All of the content is available to all visitors without registering on the site or providing any of your personal identifying information.
Q: Can I download content from your site and use it on my site without asking?
A: Yes. I have no problem with people downloading content from this site and using it on theirs. The whole point of this site is to perpetuate interest in arcade and pinball games, so spreading the content from this site is fine with me. I would recommend that any content that you reuse from this site should include credit to the original creator of the content, where applicable.
Q: Who Can Submit A Score?
A: The High Scores Arcade is meant for all players to be able to save their high scores. There are typically two types of players that send in scores - those that want to compete for the #1 position on their games, and those that want to record their scores on all of the games they play. Both types of players are welcome to post their scores.
Q: Why should I send in my score?
A: Two reasons. First, competing for great scores on your favorite games is at the very core of arcade and pinball gaming. It's the way that we know who is better than someone else at a particular game. It's how we establish bragging rights and friendly competition, how we push ourselves to become better players, how we track our progress in playing games. Second, where are you saving your scores right now? A dry erase board in your game room? Slips of paper? Nowhere at all? This web site is a perfect way to save your scores from disappearing. Your name and your scores can be pulled out of the database individually so that your gaming achievements can be exclusively recognized.
Q: How do I submit a score?
A: You can submit your score to the scoreboard today! All you need to do is download and complete an Email form to submit your score for review (you will likely need to save the form to your computer with "Save As"). Once you have completed the form, submit it in by attaching the form, along with a photo of your high score screen, and sending it to this Email address (editor at high scores arcade dot com.) Scores cannot be accepted without the submission form and a high score screen shot. Scores will generally be reviewed and added to the scoreboard within about 24 hours.
Q: Can I submit my score even if it isn't a first place score?
A: Absolutely! This site is about preserving high scores for all players, not just the highest score for any one game.
Q: What if my game is not yet listed on the scoreboard?
A: If you send in a score for a game that is not yet listed in the database, the game will be added at the same time as the score.
Q: Will I be notified once my score is accepted?
A: Yes. You will receive a confirmation Email and your score will be added to the scoreboard, typically within 24 hours.
Q: What are the rules for playing my game?
A: In summary, games rules for arcade games are three lives, factory defaults. For pinball, three balls and factory defaults. Please visit the Rules of Play section for more detailed information. |
