Rules of Play

Arcade

  • All arcade games must be played on the default settings and on arcade hardware. No MAME submissions are accepted. Original hardware can be used in non-original cabinets. In addition, multi-game boards can also be used, such as the new 48-in-1 boards or the Clay Cowgill kits. The idea is that the games are played on real arcade hardware and not on a PC in MAME.

  • All games must start with three lives unless otherwise established by the default settings

  • All high scores must have your initials unless the game does not accept initials

  • All games must be played on one credit with no continues

  • Games with finite endings may be played in marathon mode with unlimited continues to beat the game but the player must indicate their desire to submit a marathon score in their submission form

Pinball

  1. All pinball games must be played on the default settings and on default tilt and incline (6.5%) settings. No Pin-MAME submissions are accepted

  2. All games must start with three balls unless otherwise established by the default settings

  3. All high scores must have your initials unless the game does not accept initials

  4. All games must be played on one credit with no continues

The high score for each game will have the photo of the high score posted on the score list.

If the game is not currently in the database, it will be added when your score is validated.

You don't have to play a new game - if your high score is already recorded on your machine, you can submit it to the database also.

Scores from official tournaments will be accepted without photos. You can send in the link to the score's posting on the internet or a scan copy of certification paperwork. For example, scores entered on the P3 Tournament web site have been accepted and added from their internet posting on their site. Official tournaments are trustworthy on their face value and do not require double authentication of their scores to be added to the High Scores Arcade.

Any score found to be falsified will result in the score being removed and the responsible party will no longer be allowed to submit scores on this site.

New for the High Scores Arcade, instead of having to buy a certificate for a score, we're now sending them electronically for each new score submission. Once your score is reviewed and accepted, you will receive a certificate by Email from the High Scores Arcade that recognizes your score and your current place on the scoreboard.
